Q. What is the purpose of the JINR SIP service?
A.To provide the JINR staff with the possibility of voice communication via the network using software and hardware phones that support the SIP protocol.

Q. Why is this service better than Skype?
A. - It is possible to connect to the SIP-server of JINR not only via the JINR network or from an external network, but also from the home networks of Dubna providers of TMPC, Contact, not including a VPN (PPPoE) connection. Therefore, traffic is not counted.

Q. How do I make a call to the 4-digit sip.jinr.ru number from the SIPNET network?
A. You need to call the JINR SIPNET channel number 0024054496, then, after a voice invitation, enter the 4-digit subscriber number at JINR.

Q. How do I set up a SIP program (telephone)?
A. When registering an account, the user gets a number (sip id, login) and password. As the domain (server, sip-proxy) you need to specify sip.jinr.ru. When connecting from a provider's LAN (without an Internet connection), instead of sip.jinr.ru, specify the IP address 10.5.5.50. At the moment, access from the local networks of TMPK, Contact is checked. If you have a telephone with SIP support, it is better to bring it to the room 216 in LIT to make setup

Q. What do I need to get an account on a SIP server?
A. The service is in debug mode, so we will issue a limited number of accounts in the coming month, mainly to employees on business trips. After the service is put into service, the registration conditions will be published on noc.jinr.ru.
